2 Masted Pond Yacht

Below are pictures of a 2 masted pond yacht I have just completed for Chris from Cheshire.

As can be seen from the pictures, I only had the hull and damaged deck to work with. The hull cleaned up ok after several coats of nitromores and a lot of sanding. The deck was to far gone so I replaced with individual scale planking. The brain steering was retained. New masts, booms and bowspit were made and new sails cut from a sheet of Egyption cotton and sown by  Angela Foster, an experienced sailmaker.

Chris had asked me to Radio Control the yacht - a rudder servo was attached to the brain steering and a Hitec lever arm sail winch fitted to control all the sails including the jibs
