This is my model of Captain Scott's tall Ship the RRS DISCOVERY. I have uploaded new photographs of my model taken at the time of the article in Lancashire Magazine.
She was built from limited plans and hundreds of photographs taken of the original ship as she underwent restoration at Discovery Point, Dundee,Scotland.
This model of the RRS Discovery is some 5ft 6inch(165cm) in length and is of plank on plank on frame construction. During a visit to Discovery Point to photograph some of the ships fittings I was very kindly given a section of the original planking. I had already started the construction of the hull but cut the section up and used some of the wood to plank the bow. The remaining wood I have used as a stand for the model.
This model has been sold however I will build another to order
